Born in Moscow, Alexander Panfilov began piano lessons at the age of six and later studied at the Gnessin’s music school in Moscow. He then attended the Moscow State Conservatory under Professor Andrei Diev and in 2012 he went on to study at Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester with Professor Graham Scott under a full scholarship. During his studies at the RNCM Alexander has won many of the College’s major prizes, including the Gold Medal for the top performance.
Appearing in concerts throughout Europe and the USA, Alexander performs in venues such as the Carnegie Hall NY, Musikverein Vienna, Tonhalle Zurich, Moscow Philharmonic, London’s Wigmore Hall and the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. As a concerto soloist he has appeared with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Belarussian State Philharmonic, Carlo Coccia Symphony orchestras, amongst others when conductors have included Andrei Galanov, Francesco Monopoli, Alessandro Ferrari and Vasily Petrenko.
